Sterilization & Cross Infection

Scare of hepatitis B-C and HIV has made people very conscious of the fact that dental instruments are one of the major reasons for the spread of these infections. At The Dental Clinic strict measures are taken to maintain high standards of sterilization and disinfection. Autoclaving is the procedure in which instruments are sterilized with steam at 121 degrees centigrade at 15 psi pressure which even kills the spore (eggs) of the bacteria. The instruments are stored in air tight pouches, with indicators to tell the status of the instruments being used.
